Body was completely stripped to bare metal in winter of 1996. Early front end damage evident and repaired. Some earlier collision damage evident on left front and panel fit fair.

Patch panels added to both sides of car including lock post and rocker panels. As noted earlier, underside had been restored and was in primer so majority of work done to body. No major rust evident that wasn't replaced by patch panels.
Shown in primer prior to paint. Final primer coat tinted to resemble final color VW Chinchilla. Color between two greys offered by Porsche in that era.
Fresh from paint which was 2 stage, basecoat clearcoat. Final assembly was done within 1 month of final paint.
Engine was rebuilt with 1720cc big bore kit, lightened flywheel, SC/912 Cam. Run on test stand was 5 to 6 hours. Tuning and tweeking prior to installation in the car. Sheet metal painted with gloss black, all fuel lines, screws and valve covers and plated parts were zink plated then steel wooled to semi gloss finish.
