May 1st, 2000,
42 cars started at London Bridge in England for an Around the
World Rally. In viewing the web site, I noticed that North American
route would stop in Billings for an overnight on June 26. A quick
email to North American Rally Master
John Bellefleur resulted in our organizing a reception committee
and arranging for mechanical repairs that might be required.
Below I have listed some site where you can see the car that
participated in the event and a site that give a day by day chronicle
of this amazing adventure by some of the most interesting and
dedicated car enthusiast I have had the privilege of meeting.
For the Billings
Stop: Special thanks to Goggles & Duster group for help and
to all those who help repair participant's cars. Cars assisted
were Austin Healey (brakes). Pontiac Chieftain (starter) Porsche
356 (wheel bearing) Mercedes 190 (drive train). Additional thanks
